27-year-old Ryan is a sports coach and studying to be a PE teacher. Living in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, he's always been keen on sports of all descriptions. Luckily Clackmannanshire's excellent sports programme for all ages and beautiful outdoor spaces gave him room to develop his ambitions. Ryan's even found true love in Clackmannanshire - he'll be getting married next year!

Paula moved to Clackmannanshire two years ago and sings the praises of the county's quality of life. "We utterly love living here," she says. "Not only the beautiful views, but how much there is on offer here, both for the adults and children!"

Paula is a personal trainer and also runs buggyfit, a postnatal class which allows mums to get active without the need for childcare. "I've always enjoyed fitness," she explains, "and after I had baby number two I needed to lose a bit of weight so I went to a personal trainer. It was so good to be fit and healthy again, I wanted to give others that same feeling so I became a personal trainer! It's such a satisfying job."

Gayle set up www.BabyMooch.co.uk after having her baby girl. The site helps parents to source all the bits and pieces they need at the best price.

"It's a massive change" says Gayle. "Having been made redundant from the banking industry I took the chance to set up on my own. Holly will be one soon, so BabyMooch is perfect because I know exactly what new mums are looking for and I can fit my work around being a mum."

Eilidh starts secondary school at Lornshill Academy this year. She's a member of Central Athletics and is a keen distance runner: the fastest girl in her age group in the Alva Games hill race. Eilidh also attends a lot of Clackmannanshire Council's sports development classes, enjoying athletics, basketball, rugby, tennis and most sports.

Robert, 55, is a self-employed joiner and also sits on the committee of Braehead Golf Club as Past Captain. Having been a member of the club for 16 years and with a handicap of 10, he gets out on the course as often as possible.
