Flooding Advice & Information
Watercourse Maintenance
The Roads and Transportation Team carries out the Council’s obligation to ensure that landowners keep watercourses maintained to a standard that minimises the incident of flooding of non-agricultural land. This involves managing debris and vegetation clearance regimes and maintenance of structures. We also provide a limited flood warning system to help us prepare watercourses in advance of extreme rainfall events.
Through our maintenance regime and professional analysis of our watercourses we aim to develop improvement programmes to reduce the flood risk to property along the burns and other watercourses in Clackmannanshire.
Flooding Emergencies
We monitor areas liable to flood, assess flood problems, carry out flood maintenance and give advice. In a flooding emergency call the Clackmannanshire Council Contact Centre number on 01259 450000 or Scottish Water helpline 08457 420420. To get up-to-date flood reports call the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) national Floodline on 0845 988 1188. If you have any information relating to flooding from burns, ditches or other natural sources please email us at roads@clacks.gov.uk
