National Entitlement Card

Sample travel cardOlder and disabled people are able to travel free by bus anywhere in Scotland on local buses and long distance scheduled coaches throughout the day, including the morning rush hour.

Young people aged 16-18 years will receive one third off the adult single fares on buses and a free Young Person's Railcard, giving you one third off train fares.

Any young person who uses their railcard to purchase season tickets - monthly, annual etc, will receive a 50% discount from 1st January 2009.

The scheme will be by application on the National Entitlement Card, which is intended to allow members of the public to use an increasing number of public services through a single card. The electronic card will help prevent fraud.
