Ochil Community Garden
The Ochil community garden, which is based at Menstrie consists of
- raised growing beds to allow access for everyone
- a polytunnel for seeds and bringing-on young plants
- an area of seating
- a small sensory garden to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone
- flower beds
The fruit and vegetables grown in the garden are used in cookery classes and in Centre Space's community café, encouraging service users to try new food.
A Community Food and Health promotion Grant was also awarded to the project to develop the garden.
The building consists of a kitchen, dining area and fully accessible changing and toilet facilities.
The service provides therapeutic, social, educational and employment opportunities to adults with a learning disability.
