Menstrie House

Menstrie HouseMenstrie House is a single-storey purpose-built residential establishment for older people in Clackmannanshire.

The building lies at the foot of the Ochil Hills in the village of Menstrie which is sited on the main St Andrews - Stirling Road (A91).

The service provides physical, social and emotional care to frail, older people and older people with dementia.

Quality of Care

In 1997 Menstrie House was successfully credited with ISO 9002 standard for quality of care, with the health care mark awarded for exceptional high standards. The home in inspected twice yearly to ensure the standard is maintained.

Menstrie House is a registered care home and as such complies with all the regulations of the National Care Standards. The home is regularly inspected and the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) Inspection Reports are available in the home and from this page.

Policy Statement

The central aim of the service to older people in Clackmannanshire is to provide high quality care in a residential setting offering support which is appropriate to individual needs and the opportunity to realise each individual's full potential.

Facilities

Services provided

The activities on offer vary according to what individuals want to do. Flexible support can be arranged where possible according to individual needs.

The service strives to access community based activities and/or opportunities whenever possible.

Staff work closely with the Area Rehab Team, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians, District Nurses etc.

Meals

Traditional homemade food is prepared in the home kitchen and menus are devised in consultation with service users. Dietary needs and preferences are discussed and catered for.

While meals are usually served at set times throughout the day, this is flexible to meet individual requests or requirements.

Light snacks can also be prepared in the fully stocked kitchens situated in each lounge area.

Tea and coffee are available throughout the day for service users, families and visitors.

All persons who become service users of Menstrie House are firstly assessed by a member of the Social Services Community Care Assessment Team.
