Information and Services for the Disabled
Working with partners and service users, the Council provides a range of services for people with disabilities.
This includes:
- the concessionary travel scheme;
- the blue badge scheme for disabiled motorists and their families;
- disabled parking spaces;
- home assessments and adaptations.
We also bring council services to people’s homes, such as the housebound library service.
And a great deal of work goes into supporting existing disablilty groups, such as DAG, the Disability Awareness Group; or working with bus and taxi operators to make them aware of the needs of disabled people through the ROAD project.
