Mobile Phone Network Development - Annual Roll-out Plans
Every autumn, the four commercial mobile telephone operators provide the local planning authority with information to show their plans for the mobile network development in the area for the coming year. This in effect provides information on each operators existing and planned base station network in the area.
The information is provided in order that the planning authority and elected Members are aware of the proposed development and can be involved in discussions regarding the siting and design of equipment with operators prior to the submission of planning applications.
It should be noted that the information provided by the operators indicate areas of search for new sites, and not specific locations, and this offers the opportunity for influencing the precise siting of equipment at an early stage of the site identification process.
A map showing the location of the areas of search for any proposed sites included in the tables can also be viewed at the bottom of the page.
Please be aware that the grid reference given in the PDF is the centre point of the area of search and is not necessarily the precise site which would be the subject of a planning application. The mobile operators are not bound to bring forward proposals for these areas of search during the coming year and nor does the identification of these sites prevent other sites being identified. The submission of this information does not in anyway prejudice the consideration of any planning application that may be required.
