Development Plan Update - June 2011
The current Clackmannanshire Development Plan was prepared under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. It comprises of the following documents in land use and planning policy:
- Clackmannanshire and Stirling Structure Plan 2002 with 3 Alterations
- 1st Alteration: Agriculture and Forestry
- 2nd Alteration: Renewable Energy
- 3rd Alteration: Clackmannanshire Housing Land
- Clackmannanshire Local Plan 2004 with 1 Alteration
The Clackmannanshire Local Plan Finalised 1st Alteration (Housing land) was adopted in October 2011.
Consultations
Generally, there are no Development Plan consultations at this time.
The Local Development Plan (LDP)
The Planning etc (Scotland) Act 2006, requires that Clackmannanshire Council produce a Local Development Plan (LDP) to include for this area:
- a vision statement and related spatial strategy - being a detailed statement of the Council's policies and proposals as to the development and use of land,
- such other matters as may be prescribed,
- any other matter that the Council consider it appropriate to include.
The LDP will be a complete review of the current Development Plan.
A Development Plan Scheme (DPS) for the LDP is updated and published annually. The most recent DPS was published in June 2011.
As the first stage in preparing the LDP, a Main Issues Report, Monitoring Statement, Environmental Report, Site Assessment Report, and an Open Space Framework were open to public consultation during January - March 2011. All relevant comments and suggestions received are being fully considered when forming the proposed Local Development Plan this calendar year.
The Council currently aims to publish the Proposed Local Development Plan for public consultation in Spring/Summer 2012.
