Assessing And Processing Application Proposals

The Council pubblishes an electronic weekly list of applications received and decided in the preceding 7 days. This is contained in the Services to Communities Bulletin. The changes in legislation now require the publication of a list of extant applications, i.e. a list of applications that we have still to decide on. This is now available online.

We also maintain the statutory Planning Register, which contains public information on decided and undecided applications.

The Council has two months to determine an application for planning permission for all local developments, and four months for a major development.

The responsibility for the assessment of all planning applications is delegated initially to individual case officers, who in turn will examine proposals, visit the site of the development and proceed to prepare a Report of Handling for each application. Every report contains specific information, including:
