Temporary Closure of Mixed Leisure Route, Tillicoultry
Notice of work to start on 3rd November 2008 on the Mixed Leisure Route between Tillicoultry and Dollar
This work will be carried out by a contractor working on behalf of Clackmannanshire Council and it is expected that the closure of this route will be in place for at least ten weeks.
The work is needed to reconstruct and raise the mixed leisure route in the vicinity of Elistoun Drive, Tillicoultry and is essential to reduce flood risk from the River Devon in the area.
It is necessary to close the mixed leisure route from the A91, Moss Road, Tillicoultry, eastwards for a distance of approximately 350 m as shown blue on the plan below.
For safety reasons it is not possible to form a convenient alternate route given the scale of the works involved.
The route can only again be accessed to the east of the closed section at a point 1.3 km away. Although this link is available, the alternate route, shown red on the plan, requires walking/cycling immediately adjacent to a part of the A91 which has a 60 mph speed limit. Caution is therefore strongly advised if this alternate route is used.
