Facilities are provided to allow you to recycle/dispose of household waste. You will need an access card, which is available to all Clackmannanshire residents. Please call 0500 545 540 for more information.

Summer
- 1st April to 30th September
- 8.00am - 8.00pm (last admission 15 minutes before closing)
Winter
- 1st October to 31st March
- 8.00am - 6.00pm (last admission 15 minutes before closing)
- Closed on Christmas and New Year's Day
Recycling Facilities
A range of facilities in the form of skips, bays and banks exist for users of the site to conveniently sort materials out for recycling.
Banks
- Cans
- Clothes and textiles
- Glass
- Paper, including yellow pages
- Plastics that are colourless and marked HDPE 2 and PET 1
- Books, CDs and DVDs
- Tetra Paks / drinks cartons
Bays
- Car batteries and gas cylinders
- Garden waste
- Soil
- Stone and rubble
- Woodchip
Skips
- Metals including washing machines, cookers and prams
- Wood except worktops, creosote, MDF and hardboard
- Cardboard of all types that is clean and flat packed
- Bikes
- Electronic equipment
Additional facilities exist for the sorting of computers, mattresses, refrigerators, tyres, pesticides, paint and waste oil. Please ask at the gate house for assistance and direction.
Waste for landfill
In addition to the recycling skips there are also skips for general waste. All waste deposited in these skips will be land-filled.
Commercial Waste
Forthbank can accept some types of commercial waste. A prepayment system is in operation and must be used on every occasion. Please consult the Commercial Waste Charges page for more information.
Waste not accepted
Waste of the following is not accepted:
- General builders' waste.
- Industrial waste from construction, demolition, excavation, alteration or repair work.
- Waste from workshops and vehicle maintenance premises.
- Hazardous commercial waste
- Asbestos Waste
Compost
Compost is available free to householders only. There is a limit of 6 bags per customer and you need to bring your own bags and shovel.
Sorry we cannot load trailers or fill bags. Compost is subject to availability.
The compost comes from Polmaise, Stirling where green garden waste from brown bins is composted to a PAS 100 standard. This compost is suitable for use as a soil improver.
