Writer in Residence
Tom Murray is the area's writer in residence.
If you are a local resident and are interested in creative writing then Tom is interested in hearing from you.
His residency is supported by the Scottish Arts Council pARTners programme in conjunction with Cultural and Community Services.
Whatever level your writing is at, whether you are interested in developing your skills, are looking for advice or feedback or simply someone to bounce ideas off they want to hear from you.
Tom welcomes contact from people of all ages including:
- budding poets;
- novelists;
- scriptwriters;
- individuals;
- groups.
Clackmannanshire Young Writers
Are you aged between 13 and 21 and love writing? If so, then this group is for you.
Whether you're interested in manga, science fiction, vampire romance, short stories, poetry, screenplays, journalism, or fancy trying something new like writing in text, then why not come along to this exciting new group.
- Day: Fortnightly on Wednesdays
- Time: 7.00 pm
- Venue: Alva Library

- Fortnightly on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm
- Venue: Menstrie Library

Tom is available to discuss your writing at:

- Wednesdays between 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm

- The Art Shop, Tron Court, Tullibody
- Tuesdays between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm
- This is a drop-in, so no need to book.

- A Writers' Weekend at Harviestoun - visiting place of Burns: January 2009
- To celebrate the anniversary of Burns, Tom Murray Writer in Residence with Clackmannanshire Council, will lead a special weekend of workshops. Poetry and prose will be explored in the picturesque surroundings of Aberdona Gallery situated on the Harviestoun Estate.
