Women in Sport and Health (WISH)

Monthly events

If you are a woman over 16 years of age and live in the Clackmannanshire area, we can offer you activities.

This programme is for women who feel isolated, want to get involved and need support to do that. We can help make it happen.

There is a small fee for membership starting from £20.00. Payments towards this amount can be made at WISHoffice at Alloa Leisure Bowl or through standing order. Weekly payment options are available for those on a low income speak to a member of WISH staff.

Activities

Women In Sport and Health activities are for members, and each month there are a range of activities and events to get involved in. Our programme is available in our Events Diary. You can also pick up programmes from Alloa Leisure Bowl and your local library.

Membership

There is new criteria for the WISH membership card, and priority will be given to

women who have been assessed and are referred by agencies;
women who make self-referrals.

This can include

women who are unemployed
women who are homeless or potentially homeless
women who receive income support
women who receive incapacity benefits

WISH members and services/agencies will require to provide information for the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of WISH.

Membership card benefits

The membership card will offer members various benefits

£2.50 towards an activity at the Leisure Bowl each week
Pamper session at Forth Valley College Clackmannanshire campus (given by students undertaking training)
- Pamper sessions will be available to the value of £5.00 a month. You have to pay any additional costs yourself. Please contact Clackmannan Campus, 01259 220513 to book appointment.
Access to monthly activities (occasional cost depending on activity)
Buddies who can give you support if you need it

Leisure Bowl Corporate Membership Card 2012-2013

WISH members can also apply for the Corporate membership. This is a separate card for use at the Leisure Bowl only

There will be limited corporate memberships and priority will go to people who meet the above criteria.

The cost will be £2.88 per week or £12.50 per month and will allow access to the Alloa Leisure Bowl to the value of £48.00 every 4 weeks.

Buddy with WISH

There will be a six session training course for members as we develop our buddy scheme to support women to participate in WISH. If you are interested, please contact us using the details below.

WISH is supported by a Board of Directors and Management Group.

The Management group made up of members and agencies/services who meet quarterly to share information. The Management Group monitor and evaluate WISH to ensure we are responding and delivering effective activities and challenges to WISH members and to explore funding opportunities.
