Shopping in Clackmannanshire
Alloa Town Centre
Alloa is the main town in Clackmannanshire, a lively market town with a mix of local and high street names. Like all market towns it has its share of small stores, banks, a post office and public library. The town is also developing a name for itself as a home for independent, artisanal shops selling creative goods made locally.
National chains include New Look, Argos, Superdrug, Boots and many others.
Big name supermarkets have made huge investments in the town in recent years. Tesco has one of its largest stores in Scotland just off the main part of the town, while Asda's new store is close to the new railway station.
Discount chains Lidl and Aldi also have stores in the town centre.
Just outside Alloa town centre, Morrisons and Focus DIY offer a quality out of town shopping experience for people to the east of the county.
Alloa market
A popular open air market operates at the bottom of Candleriggs, off the town centre. The market is held weekly every Thursday. The space also provides a car park with 120 free car parking spaces for the town centre for the rest of the week.
The development also links the town centre to the historic Alloa Tower, a site of important architectural heritage.
