The Council's Housing Service has a responsibility for ensuring that there is an adequate supply of quality, affordable housing in Clackmannanshire. We do this by offering council housing for rent and by supporting and encouraging other organisations to provide housing for renting, leasing or buying. The Council also has a responsibility for those with special needs such as homeless people and travellers.

The council owned the following types and number of houses at March 2011:

The number of council houses was reduced by 26, mainly due to tenants buying their homes.
