Recorded Crime

The total number of crimes recorded in Clackmannanshire decreased by 12.1% between 2007/08 and 2008/09. In 2008/09, Clackmannanshire police reorded 4,018 crimes. The total number of Scotland's figures on the number of crimes recorded by police decreased by 2.1% between 2007/08 and 2008/09. In Scotland, 377,433 crimes were recorded in 2008/09.

Clackmannanshire had a crime clear up rate of 61% in 2008/09 by comparison to 68% in 2007/08. Out of 32 Scottish local authorities, Clackmannanshire had the 7th highest crime clear up rate.

In 2008/09, all of the 8 Scottish police forces showed a decrease in the numbers of crimes recorded in 2008/09 by comparison to 2007/08. Central police force had the 5th highest number of crimes recorded (per 10,000 population), with 652 crimes per 10,000 population.
