Key Facts
- Child Population
- 0-17 aged child population 10,811 (GROS mid-year estimates 2010) which is currently 21% of the population.
- School Population
- As at September 2011, the total Clackmannanshire primary school population was 3,776 and the secondary school population was 2,838.
- 39% of Clackmannanshire school pupils live in the most deprived areas.
- Attendance and Absence in Schools
- In Clackmannanshire the attendance rate for Primary schools was 95.3% and for Secondary school 91.3% in 2010/11.
- Exclusions from School
- During 2010/11 there were 218 cases of exclusion from Clackmannanshire schools. This is a decrease of 49% from 2009/10. Males accounted for 75% of all cases of exclusion.
- Destination of School Leavers
- In 2010/11, of the 561 school leavers in Clackmannanshire, 84.8% are in positive destinations (higher education, further education, employment, voluntary work or training). This refects the national figure of 88.8%.
- Child Protection
- In 2009/10 there were 238 Child Protection referrals in Clackmannanshire, with 54 children placed on the local Child Protection register.
- Looked After Children
- As at 31 July 2010, there were 222 Looked After Children in Clackmannanshire, of these 142 or 64% were accommodated away from home during 2009/2010.
- Looked After Children Educational Outcomes 2009/10
- In Clackmannanshire, the school attendance rate for looked after children was 90%, compared with 93.6% attendance for all Clackmannanshire school children.
- The exclusion rate per 1,000 pupil for looked after children was 222, compared with 64 for all Clackmannanshire school children.
- School leaver destinations for looked after children: at both the initial and follow-up survey 40% were in a positive destination, this compares with 87.7% at initial survey and 81.3% at follow-up survey of all Clackmannanshire school leavers.
- Disability (NOMIS)
