The Business Improvement and Technology Services (BITS) provide co-ordination and overall programme management of the Scottish Government's Modernisation and Efficient Government agendas in addition to the provision of Information Technology (IT) Services.

The functions included are:

• Business Improvement
  Responsible for Best Value, Corporate and Service Planning, Risk Management, Performance Management and the council's business change programme.
• Customer Service
  Responsible for leading on the delivery of the council's Customer Service strategy and operational delivery and expansion of the council's Customer Contact Centre.
• Information Technology (IT) Services
  Responsible for assisting services with the specification of IT business needs and the subsequent procurement, commissioning, installation and maintenance of the council's data and voice infrastructure and mobile communications.
• Procurement
  Responsible for the provision and development of policy, strategy and operational Procurement Service within Clackmannanshire Council.
