Voluntary Driver Scheme

  • Do you own a car?
  • Does it sit at home doing very little?
  • Have you got some spare time to spend on something worthwhile?
  • Would you like to be part of a team that provides a valuable service?

If the answer to these questions is YES, then the Voluntary Driver Scheme may be just what you are looking for.

About the Scheme

Social Services use voluntary drivers to transport service users and sometimes other family members to various locations.

The groups can be categorised as follows:

  • Children and Families
  • Adult Care
  • Elderly

You may wish to support one or more of these groups at times convenient to yourself.

The Voluntary Driver Scheme is co-ordinated by the Travel and Transport Team within Services to People.

We pay mileage expenses for all journeys that you undertake.

We need caring volunteers who can help us to continue providing a very important service. You could be one of them! Please contact us using the email address or telephone number below.
