Annual Garden Competition

Clackmannanshire Council's Annual Garden Competition is open to everyone living in Clackmannanshire.
- Closing date for 2008 entries was Monday, 30th June.
- Judging will take place in early August.
Clackmannanshire has a wealth of natural beauty. The magnificent Ochils are a great inspiration to everyone - especially keen gardeners.
But the Ochils are not the only attraction in the Wee County.
Floral gardens, vegetable gardens, allotments and floral containers all add up to make the Wee County a prettier place to live, work and visit.
Categories
There will be awards for the best garden in the district for the following categories:
- Floral
- Allotment
- Floral Containers
- Commercial Premises
- Vegetable Garden
- Newcomer
- Biodiveristy
There is also a special prize for Council tenants. You may enter your garden in any - and as many - of the categories as you wish.
In addition there may be special awards for the best floral gardens in the following areas:
- Alloa
- Alva
- Clackmannan, Kennet and Forestmill
- Coalsnaughton, Devonside and Fishcross
- Dollar, Muckhart
- Menstrie
- Sauchie
- Tillicoultry
- Tullibody, Cambus and Glenochil
All categories are judged on:
- the general appearance and layout of the garden;
- the utilisation of the plant material within the garden;
- the standard of cultivation and maintenance of the garden.
