Domestic Security
Everybody has the right to feel safe in their own home. However some criminals attempt to prey on the more vulnerable sections of society, for example elderly residents.
To help tackle this, the Community Wardens received training from their Police partners to enable them to carry out domestic security surveys on properties and give security advice to residents. This survey will give you advice on how to make your home more secure to combat housebreakers and opportunist thefts from your property.
If you wish to arrange a visit from the Wardens to receive free advice on home security, please contact us using the details below.
Security tips
- If you have a security chain - use it
- If you have a door viewer - use it
- If you have any suspicions about a caller, contact the Police on 999
Remember ...
- to check identification. They may look official, possibly even wearing a uniform, but genuine callers will be happy for you to phone their company to check;
- never to hand over money or bank details to callers at your door. They will significantly overcharge for work claimed to have been carried out;
- to get a good description of any suspicious caller including vehicle details such as colour, make and registration.
