Anti-social behaviour
Clackmannanshire Council is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour within its communities.
A specialist team of staff works in partnership with Central Scotland Police, Ochil View and Paragon Housing Associations, to address the issues of anti-social behaviour. This team includes the community wardens, estate management support officers, community police officers and the CALM Team.
In a further expansion of the service, an Advice Line has been set up - 0800 0566 210. The freephone line is staffed by trained contact centre staff to provide advice and support to residents who are disturbed by the behaviour of their neighbours or other people in their community.
Staff will be able to offer straight forward advice on a range of issues and direct callers to the appropriate Council service for action such as environmental health or to other agencies such as the police. The freephone number is available for everyone in the community, not just Council tenants.
The line is available from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, an answerphone message urges callers to contact the police in an emergency or to leave a message for an advisor to return the call.
The advice line takes calls on a range of issues, including:
- Rowdy behaviour
- Drugs and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour
- Noise nuisance
- Harassment, including racial harassment
- Illegal/nuisance driving
- Litter and rubbish
- Graffiti
- Vandalism
- Abandoned vehicles
To effectively tackle anti social behaviour callers need to provide us with as much information as possible:
- Who is involved
- Where is it happening
- What exactly is going on
- How often
People who are experiencing anti-social behaviour should try and report incidents as they happen. It can also be useful to gather evidence of dates and times of incidents in a diary.
While it is also possible to leave information on an anonymous basis, we would always prefer to know who we are speaking to. Just because you give us your name does not necessarily mean you will end up giving evidence in court.
