Scottish Book Trust - Babies and Early Years
Welcome to Bookbug, Scottish Book Trust's Early Years Programme (formerly known as Bookstart in Scotland).
This early years programme is for children aged birth to four and their families, and includes the following elements:
Bookbug Packs
Free Bookbug packs of books are gifted to all children in Scotland:
- Bookbug baby pack
- This will be gifted at one of the 6-16 weeks check up with your Health Visitor. Inside this pack will be a voucher to receive a free book from your local library.
- Bookbug toddler pack
- This pack will be given out between 13 and 24 months via your Health Visitor.
- Bookbug pirate pack
- This pack will be given out in your child's pre-pre-school year within the nursery or playgroup setting.
Bookbug sessions
These sessions replace the Rhyme Time sessions and take place at the following venue:
- Alloa Library
- Monday at 10.00 am
- Thursday at 1.30 pm
Sessions will also take place within the Under 1's Groups which are held through out Clackmannanshire.
Bookbug's Library Challenge
Collect stamps every time you visit the library with your child to receive 5 beautifully illustrated certificates.
